• The minimum distance from the sprinklers to the wall must not be less than 102 mm.
• The minimum separation between sprinklers must not be less than 2.44 meters.

How automatic sprinklers work
The most popular automatic sprinkler systems are pipe sprinklers. In these systems, the automatic sprinklers are water discharge nozzles that are connected to a pressurized hydraulic network. When the nozzles detect a rise in temperature, they detach a part of its body, allowing it to release pressurized water in sufficient quantity to wet a certain area. That is, the sprinkler is in the first instance a fire detector that is activated by heat. In turn, it is a fire extinguisher that uses pressurized water.
These sprinklers can be pressurized with water, called wet-pipe systems, or with air, known as dry-pipe systems. This last system is the one used in areas where temperatures drop a lot to prevent the water from freezing in the pipes.
If the fire is so intense that the heat is not reduced within a few seconds (ie. the sprinkler is unable to put out the fire) the system activates another sprinkler, and so on, until all sprinklers are activated.
In addition to extinguishing or controlling the source of the fire, this type of sprinkler also fulfills another important function: cooling the area. This makes it possible to protect important structures to prevent materials such as wood or iron from deforming, which avoids or, at least, minimizes the need for subsequent reform.
In addition to wet automatic sprinkler systems, there are other types of sprinklers. One of these systems is the precaution sprinkler system, the piping of which is not pressurized. When this system detects the rise in temperature, it sends a signal to a valve that contains the water under pressure, giving rise to the release of the water, which runs through the pipes to discharge the water through the nozzles. This system makes it possible to prevent accidental water discharge that could damage important elements, making it very suitable for museums, clean rooms in laboratories or places where there are furniture or valuable belongings.
Another is the deluge sprinkler system, which uses open sprinklers without a thermo sensitive element interconnected to a fire detection system, so that when the detection system is activated, an opening signal is sent to the valve containing the water, under pressure and water flows through all sprinklers.
